Equine Hanna Somatics
Balanced in Body, Balanced in Feet, Balanced in Mind
Equine Hanna Somatics (EHS) is an adaptation of Hanna Somatics for humans. And was developed by Eleanor Criswell Hanna.
Like humans, horses experience stress and develop chronically contracted muscles. Equine Hanna Somatics is a hands-on procedure for teaching horses and their owners the voluntary conscious control for reliving those tight muscles back to a neutral resting state. Guiding the horse back to a neutral resting state can improve posture, way of traveling, inner attitude and ware patterns on hoofs.
After an EHS session-
Horses travel more easily and move more fluidly with better proprioception.
Have increased flexibility and longer stride
Experience less pain and discomfort in joints and muscles.
Have improved balance between left and right sides.
The slow and conscious moves in each EHS protocol works with the horses nervous system to develop the above benefits. The brain needs to change to improve the horses movement patterns.
The basic Equine Hanna Somatics protocol can be learned and applied by horse owners and handlers.
Handlers and riders who perform EHS with their horses have consistently noticed riding a smoother and more fluid horse.
EHS contributes to having a more bonded relationship with your horse.
An EHS session usually lasts an hour and a half. A quiet, comfortable and safe space for the horse is preferable.
Each session is 180$ Discounted rates for those horses in my trimming program!

Winter Support Packages - Including some of my favorites -
Red Horse Products!

Hoof Armore!
I’m always asked -”What product should I be putting on my horses feet to help it?”
This is why I’m providing hoof care packages for winter months.
I began barefoot trimming my first horse in 2007. When I tried to hire a professional his response was that I was capable of learning on my own, so he directed me to the Oregon School of Natural Hoof Care.
Since then, I have been back to the school and have studied under professionals in the industry, and taken class on my own.
When taking on a new horse, I consider their workload, environment, diet and riding surfaces.
I can also recommend boots of different styles.
Can provide custom winter care package.

About Lili Wren
I have been inspired and awed by horses my whole life. Training, teaching and being a student of the horse, has been my occupation for the last 25 years. After receiving two undergraduate degrees in horse related majors-
(Bachelor of Science-Equine Business Management, Johnson & Wales University)
( Associate of Science-Pack Station & Stable Operations, Horse Training and Packing Concentrations, Feather River College)
I continued my education by learning to trim my own horse. This started me on a journey of professional barefoot trimming and hoof care.
I am grateful for my introduction to Equine Hanna Somatics. Being able to bring positive changes in the horses mind and body, has been very valuable. This has helped me to form my three tiered approach to helping horses be healthier in mind, body and feet. I teach principles and practices for recognizing the smallest try, communication, and movement pattern from the horse. Making sure the horse is in a learning frame of mind and understands what is asked is my goal and responsibility.
